XP monthly news ππ§΅π |
Hello! As promised* (only one week later than promised!) here is a short newsletter with some announcements, while Elliott writes his long form letter on the other side of the world. |
*if you missed the last newsletter: we are trying a new format where instead of a sporadic newsletter we do monthly News and sporadic Letters. This way we don't lose the beautiful freedom of writing whatever we want and take our time, but also keep you informed on events and other things happening in and around XP. |
We have a few fun things coming up that we would like to invite you to: |
Sunday, 30 Aug 18:00 - 20:30 |
π How to Organise ... and Unionise?! |
How to Organise β¦ and Unionise?! is a slow moving reading group beginning this summer and running into autumn. The book is βArt Work: Invisible Labour and the Legacy of Yugoslav Socialismβ by Katja Praznik, chosen for itβs historical account of labour regulation in the cultural sector across socialist Yugoslavia, and Praznikβs proposals for how preconceived notions of βcreativityβ can perpetuate exploitation in the arts. Reading occurs in the moment, not before. Weβll be reading in english, conversation can unfold in multiple languages. The reading group is open to all but may be of particular interest to those involved in labour conditions, self-organising and collective work, and how to sustain these efforts. π The Income Pool @ Foundation We Are |
We are currently working hard on an installation to be exhibited at Foundation We Are in Eindhoven! The show will be on during Dutch Design Week 2026, but is already opening on September 18th if you want to pay a visit outside the busy design festival. The work, which reflects on our income pooling experiences, is part of an exhibition centered on the need for collectivity and community. We'll try to share more soon. Come around! |
That's it for now! Stay tuned for Elliott's long letter πΈπΈπΈπΈ |
